Aetna Global Benefits Announces 2008 Plan Sponsor Survey Results

Findings Demonstrate Positive Customer Experiences

Aetna Global Benefits (AGB) is focused on building global connections for healthy and successful international assignments through flexibility, innovation, integration and concierge-level service. To gauge its performance in these areas, AGB recently completed its sixth annual plan sponsor survey.

This year, more than 150 of AGB’s customers provided feedback on their current customer experiences, how AGB can enhance its product and service offerings to assist them in achieving their organizational objectives, and the best methods to establish better communication links with their organization and employees.

Highlights of the 2008 survey results include:

  • 99% are satisfied with AGB’s programs for their globally mobile employees
  • 99% are likely to recommend AGB to other organizations with globally mobile employees
  • 96% agree that AGB provides innovative services
  • 96% believe that doing business with AGB is easy and hassle-free
  • 100% confirm (for the fourth consecutive year) that AGB’s International Health Advisory Team (IHAT) is a valuable resource for their employees. IHAT is AGB’s team of nurses focused on supporting members for almost any health situation — pre-trip, post-trip and any time in between.

These outstanding results correspond with the fact that 60 percent of plan sponsors surveyed believe that “services” is the single most important factor in choosing a benefits company for their globally mobile employees. When selecting a benefits plan, affordability, ease of use, customer service and comprehensive benefits ranked at the top of the list. AGB also discovered that at least eight in ten plan sponsors are interested in taking their benefits package to the next level with value-added services like wellness programs and virtual employee enrollment guides.

In response, AGB recently launched Aetna Global Health Connections, a suite of health and wellness programs designed to help members better manage their health across the continuum of care and various life stages. Phase two of the program is scheduled to launch later this year, which will include a full maternity management program and partnership with Weight Watchers.

“This feedback is critical to understanding the needs of our plan sponsors as we continue to build a high-performing global organization and prepare for future growth,” said Martha Temple, vice president and head of AGB. “We truly value the strong, consultative partnerships we have built with our constituents, and look forward to enhancing their future experiences.”
