National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza Implementation Plan Announced
In May, the Homeland Security Council published a strategy for implementing the nation’s pandemic response plan. In this plan, all levels of government are obliged to provide essential public services and maintain public order to the best of their ability.
The attached summary outlines the impact to the country’s infrastructure including public safety, health, commerce, transportation and more. It also details the breakdown of state verses federal responsibility, including both local and federal law enforcement and military officials.
