Aetna Selects La Colonial, S.A. for Insurance of its Dominican Republic Book of Business

HARTFORD, Conn., USA, February 4, 2004 — Aetna today announced that its international health and global benefits business, Aetna Global Benefits (AGB), has appointed La Colonial, S.A. (La Colonial) as the insurance carrier for its international group health and life insurance programs in the Dominican Republic. Under the terms of this relationship, which went into effect in December 2003, La Colonial becomes the local insurance company for AGB's products in the Dominican Republic. La Colonial will underwrite international health and life insurance programs for its customers, and AGB will provide reinsurance coverage and access to a wide range of health care management services.
