Martha Temple
President, Aetna Global Benefits
Martha Temple is President of Aetna Global Benefits with responsibility for Aetna Life and Casualty, Bermuda (Aetna Global Benefits), the international business of Aetna. She also serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Aetna Life and Casualty, Bermuda.
Ms. Temple joined Aetna in 1990 and has held various management positions throughout the health division. She was named head of Finance and Operations for Aetna Global Benefits (AGB) in 2000, and the head of Aetna Global Benefits in 2001. As head of AGB, Ms. Temple is responsible for the overall management of the business including: claim and member services, medical case management and provider relations, sales, marketing, underwriting, administration, product development, actuarial, and finance. In 2005, Ms. Temple was named to the Founding Board of Directors of the Global Health Benefits Institute and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Middlesex County United Way in Middletown, CT.
Ms. Temple is an Actuary and received her Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in 1993. Prior to joining AGB she held several roles within Aetna including: Reserve Actuary, Pricing Officer, and head of New Business Underwriting for Aetna’s National Businesses.
Ms. Temple is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. She lives with her husband and three young sons in Durham, CT.
