Aetna Global Benefits Announces First Annual Member Survey Results

Findings Demonstrate Positive Member Satisfaction and Provide Additional Insight into Expatriate Experiences

Aetna Global Benefits (AGB) promotes healthy and successful international assignments through flexibility, innovation, integration and the delivery of concierge-level service. To gauge its performance in these areas, AGB recently completed its first annual member survey. This tool, among many others, will help AGB to expand and build upon its product and service offerings and overall constituent experiences.

This information is critical in order to continue to exceed our members’ expectations and assist them in achieving healthy and successful international assignments,” said Martha Temple, president of AGB. “We truly value the strong, consultative partnerships we have with our members, and look forward to further enhancing their experiences with us.”

In the survey’s inaugural year, AGB members provided valuable insights into their international assignment experiences and overall satisfaction and needs. Highlights of the 2008 survey results include:

  • 80% overall satisfaction with AGB
  • 80% are likely to recommend AGB to others
  • 93% overall satisfaction with the professionalism and courtesy of AGB Member Services
  • 91% overall satisfaction with the ability to reach AGB Member Services when needed
  • 83% overall satisfaction with the AGB provider network
  • 86% overall satisfaction with the ease of initiating a direct-settlement arrangement
  • 90% and above overall satisfaction with the quality of health care services overseas, including primary, specialist and hospital care
  • 88% overall satisfaction with the AGB Online Member Service Center and Web tools

These outstanding results correspond with the fact that nearly 90 percent of AGB members surveyed consider health care — both understanding local health care and an individual’s personal needs — as their highest priority when it comes to accepting, executing and completing an international assignment. And when it comes to international health care products and services, the most critical factors that contribute to the success of an assignment are locating quality health care professionals and receiving health benefits and services designed specifically for expatriates. AGB members also expressed interest in improving their overall health and wellness in areas such as women’s health, nutrition, fitness and stress management.
